Valleys/Valles

As I face dark places in my own life, I think of how many people are walking this same walk… so I wanted to share these encouraging words:

“Cold. Lonely. Frightening. Abysmal. In the valley of the shadow of death, we battle with hopelessness and the fear of being abandoned.

In the darkest moments of our lives, we often feel like God is a thousand miles away.  God is with us on the mountaintops, we think, but in the valleys, we’re all alone.

Nothing could be further from the truth.  In 1 Kings 20, the Syrian king was told that Syria had fought Israel on the hills and lost because Israel’s God was the God of the hills.  So if they fought the Israelites in the valleys they would win.  Of course, the misinformed Syrians lost again because God is a God of the valleys too!

There’s nowhere you can go where you’re not covered by God’s mercy and grace.  Whether you are in the pink of health or terribly ill in the valley of the shadow of death, He is with you and will never leave you nor forsake you.  So don’t lose hope. The God of the valleys is your strength.  He will uphold you with His righteous right hand (Is. 41:10) and deliver you from your enemies.

Jesus is a shepherd whose tender heart toward you will never allow Him to forsake you when you need Him the most (Ps. 23:4).  See Him with you protecting you, delivering you from death and bringing you safely through every season of darkness.”        Excerpt from Joseph Prince’s book Healing Promises.

Mientras vivo tiempos oscuros en mi vida, me pongo a pensar en cuanta gente esta pasando por lo mismo.  Asi que quiero compartir estas palabras que me alientan a mi tambien:

En los momentos mas oscuros de nuestra vida, a menudo sentimos como si Dios estuviera a mil kilómetros de distancia. Dios esta con nostros en las cumbres, pensamos, pero en los valles estamos solos.

Nada podria estar mas lejos de la verdad.  En 1 Reyes 20, al rey de Siria se le informó que Siria había peleado contra Israel en los montes y que habia perdido porque el Dios de Israel era Dios de los montes.  Asi que si peleaban contra los israelitas en los valles, ganarían.  Por supuesto, como los sirios estaban mal informados volvieron a perder porque ¡Dios es Dios de los valles también!

No hay ningún lugar al que usted pueda ir donde no esté cubierto por la misericordia y gracia de Dios.  Sea que esté en el meollo de la salud o terriblemente enfermo en el valle de sombra de muerte, Él está con usted y nunca lo dejará ni lo abandonará.  Asi que no pierda la esperanza.  El Dios de los valles es su fuerza. ¡Él lo sostendrá con la diestra de su justicia (Is. 41:10) y lo librará de sus enemigos.
